If you're in Mayfield Heights and seeking a solution for a damaged or decayed tooth, dental crowns might be the perfect solution for you. Dental crowns are tooth-shaped caps placed over a tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and enhance its appearance. They fully encase the visible portion of your tooth that lies at and above the gum line. At Stuetzer Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer top-notch dental crowns, ensuring you regain that confident and beautiful smile.
Why Should I Get Dental Crowns?
Dental crowns are an ideal solution if you're dealing with a weak, broken, or severely worn down tooth. They not only restore the tooth's functionality but also improve its aesthetic appeal. Crowns are also used to hold dental bridges in place and cover dental implants. If you have a discolored or misshapen tooth, a crown can also be used to cover it, enhancing your smile's overall appearance. Dr. Daniela Stuetzer and her team are experienced in providing dental crowns that perfectly match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth.

The Benefits of Dental Crowns
Restores Tooth Functionality
Dental crowns restore the functionality of damaged teeth. If you have a decayed or broken tooth, it can hinder your ability to chew and speak properly. A dental crown can provide a sturdy cover for your tooth, restoring its original function and allowing you to eat and speak with ease.
Enhances Aesthetic Appeal
A dental crown can significantly improve the appearance of your teeth. If you have a discolored or misshapen tooth, a crown can cover it, giving it a natural and healthy appearance. At our practice, we ensure that the crowns we provide match the color and shape of your natural teeth, giving you a seamless and beautiful smile.
Long-lasting Solution
Dental crowns are a long-lasting solution for damaged teeth. With proper care and oral hygiene, a dental crown can last between 5 to 15 years. This makes it a cost-effective solution for restoring the health and appearance of your teeth.
The Dental Crowns Treatment Process
Examination and Preparation
The first step in the dental crown process involves a thorough examination of your teeth. Dr. Stuetzer will check the health of your tooth and determine if a crown is the best solution. If a crown is needed, the tooth will be reshaped to make room for the crown. An impression of the tooth is then taken to create a custom-made crown.
Temporary Crown Placement
After your tooth has been prepared, a temporary crown is placed to protect the tooth while the permanent crown is being made. This temporary crown is usually made of resin or stainless steel.
Permanent Crown Placement
Once your permanent crown is ready, you'll return to our office. The temporary crown is removed, and the new crown is checked for proper fit and color. If everything looks and feels perfect, it is permanently cemented into place.
